On Uchtdorf Family Donations to Joe Biden, Ralph Warnock, Jon Ossoff, and the DNC
In response to media reports that a member of the Uchtdorf family made donations to the campaigns of President Joe Biden, Senators Ralph Warnock and Jon Ossoff, and the Democratic National Committee, we release this statement from our National Director Rob Taber:
“The First Presidency has long maintained that principles of the gospel can be found in the platforms of all of the major political parties. I find the political diversity of the Church beautiful, as we each exercise our agency to lift up our fellow humans and create a better society for all families. From a strategy standpoint, I also appreciate that the donations not only went to the top of the ticket, but to important down-ballot Senate races and party infrastructure, enabling the electoral victories that made the American Rescue Plan a reality. Thanks to these donations from the Uchtdorf family and millions of other Democratic donors, relief funds for 85% of Americans will start to arrive in bank accounts this weekend and over this next year, child poverty in our country will be cut by half. The maker of these campaign contributions can rest assured that President Biden and Democrats are working every day for all Americans.”
